Hi all,

It's been a while and I've been away from dA for the last few months. I apologize for that as things in my life have been bad. things are still bad but I don't want to abandon the group for too long. A big thank you to the hard working Help Team Members who have been there for you guys when you need them, what you do is truly appreciated beyond what words can say.

I am sorry I missed Self Harm Awareness Day and I do promise to make things up to all of you. I sincerely hope that you guys are coping with life and trying your best not to fall into relapse. Please remember though, relapse doesn't mean you've failed. You've just taken a stumble but I know you all can get up, dust off and keep walking, even if it takes a while to do it.

SoCal Residents: Mental Health Awareness Week***PARKING INFO CHANGED!***
Hello my awesome SoCal friends!

I have some very exciting news for you all. Saddleback College's Psychology & Psi Beta Club is hosting its annual Mental Health Awareness Week from November 26th-29th. In case you are unaware, Saddleback College is a community college located in Mission Viejo, Orange County, California. We have some extremely special events and speakers including names you may recognize (besides myself) such as Jonah Mowry (gay bullied youth victim who was first noticed on youtube through his famous flashcard "Whats goin on.." video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdkNn3Ei-Lg ), Anna & Victoria Mendez (founders of the Cool 2 Be Kind Club http://cool2bekind.org ), and Tanya Brown (sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, from the OJ Simpson murder trial). I will warn you that some of the questions may be a little unsettling/distressing, and if you are uncertain about proceeding past the SI question warning, DO NOT PROCEED as some questions may be triggering/incredibly upsetting. If you are caused any distress or bad thoughts by this quiz don't hesitate to contact myself or the other admins, or any of the Help Team. Renee Yohe, the inspiration behind the highly empowering organization TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms) is coming to Saddleback College this Thursday in Mission Viejo, CA! Renee is living proof that there is hope & rescue & an amazing shot at an incredible life & future after abuse, suicide, depression, self-injury, addiction, and rape. Renee will be speaking at 7pm in the Quad on the upper campus May 9th and will be giving an acoustic performance with songs from her new band, Bearcat. This is an extremely rare and inspirational experience so take advantage of this and invite all you can! Admission is free and is open to the public. [link]
